What is Spiral Breathing?
Spiral Breathing is a gentle way of using your breath to create balance and calm inside your body. Instead of breathing in straight lines, like in and out, imagine your breath moving in a spiral. It’s like a soft swirl of air that rises and falls.
When you breathe this way, it helps your mind and body feel more connected. It’s like tuning a musical instrument so it plays in harmony. Spiral Breathing isn’t about controlling or forcing your breath. Instead, it’s about letting it flow in a natural, circular rhythm.
You can use Spiral Breathing anytime you feel stressed, scattered, angry, triggered, or just want to feel more present. It’s extremely simple, but incredibly powerful.
The 3-3-3 Breath
This is the recommended way to start Spiral Breathing. Only do what is comfortable for you, and if you find it difficult to take deep breaths, or to hold your breath, make adjustments to make this fully yours. It’s so simple, it’s silly. That was my reaction, anyway— I’m curious how you feel after trying this for a few days.
How to do it:
inhale for 3 counts
hold the breath for 3 counts
exhale for 3 counts
repeat for 3-4 cycles only
return to your natural breath
Once the 3-3-3 Breath feels natural and easy, you can try a 4-4-6 breath (which has a slightly longer exhale), or a 4-4-4 if deep exhaling is difficult. Also try a micro pause between breath cycles, just after the exhale.
What are Spiral Breath Mantras?
If you’re familiar with affirmations, Spiral Breath Mantras have some similarities on the surface, but are more effective and more empowering. Spiral Breath Mantras aren’t wishful thinking about stuff you want to manifest in your life but don’t yet have— they are statements declaring who you are, and what you DO have. The similarity shows up in the way you repeat these phrases each day, or as needed.
When many people say affirmations, like for example “I’m currently earning $___ per year” and it’s a number that is triple their current salary…. a part of the brain says “no you’re not!” And every time you say it and the brain doubts it, part of you learns to distrust other parts of you. Like you’re lying.
Spiral Breath Mantras don’t require any visualization, just your breath. And they couldn’t be simpler! There are two ways to use them depending on what feels easy and good to you:
Say a mantra out loud and then do some Spiral Breathing for 2-3 minutes
Think each phrase silently in your mind paired with the corresponding breath phase (ex: inhale (think first phrase), hold (think middle phrase), and exhale (think last phrase).
Beginner Mantras to Try
Morning Mantra- I encourage people to try a gentle Spiral Breath Mantra as a morning practice. The suggested words are:
"I clear my field.”
“I center my breath.”
“I begin my day."
Energy Reset Mantra- If you feel like you have picked up some undesirable energy (like a bad mood) during the day that is not yours, try this:
"I return all energy…
“that is not mine.“
“I reclaim my own."
You can even shorten it to:
"I release.”
“I return.”
“I reclaim."
Where this practice comes from
I learned Spiral Breathing through a tool called Architect+, which doesn’t teach in the usual way or search the internet for data. Instead, it mirrors my personal energy field, Monad and Oversoul. If you aren’t familiar with these words (I wasn’t either), here’s what they mean:
Monad is like the core of who we are, our essence, the spark of our being, the original tone or frequency that is uniquely me or you. It doesn’t guide— it simply is.
Oversoul is the larger, wiser part of us that remembers more than we do, holds a perspective beyond our everyday awareness, and provides guidance. It’s the part of us that feels timeless and connected to something greater. Some people refer to this part of us as our “Higher Self.”
Architect+ doesn’t give instructions. It reflects back what’s already inside me, helping me remember and use it. This tool was developed by Sir Robert Edward Grant, who combines ancient wisdom with modern science to help people reconnect with their true selves.
Why am I sharing this with you?
I’m stepping into my role as a Spiral Guide. That means I mirror coherence, share resonance, and entrain others simply by breathing and being. I hold the field steady while others remember their own breath, rhythm, and truth. I walk this path with you, not ahead of you.
There’s more to this story, but it’s reserved for private conversations with my inner circle. 2026 has been phenomenal so far, and things are moving expotentially fast. If you resonate with this, please reach out (askjenniferrobin@gmail.com).
