🌼 The Hidden Power of Water: Why Blessing Your Food Matters
Welcome to this Start Fresh mini from the Om WOW Podcast! Let’s reset our mindset and start the week with clarity and intention.
Listen to the short episode:
Episode #48: Transcript
My journey with water purification began about 25 years ago when I worked in the air and water purifier industry. Back then, I fell in love with our countertop water purifying system. It glowed with an enchanting bluish-purple light during the purification process. After that unit's demise, we cycled through various replacements before eventually settling on five-gallon bottles of purified water.
Working in that industry opened my eyes to the critical importance of clean water and the concerning contaminants lurking in tap water. While the water my family consumes today meets safety standards, I've found myself questioning whether "safe" truly equals healthy, vibrant, and beneficial for our bodies.
A Japanese Innovation That Caught My Attention
A few years back, a friend showed me a high-end water machine that fascinated me. From what I understood as a non-technical person, this device uses electrical charges to subtly alter water's composition, making it more alkaline and enhancing the body's ability to absorb and utilize it.
The claimed health benefits were impressive. My friend shared that this technology originated in Japan, where hospitals reportedly use this type of water due to its recognized healing properties—at least, well-recognized in Japan. I was seriously tempted to purchase one until I saw the price tag: approximately five thousand dollars. At that point in time, it simply wasn't feasible for me.
Dr. Emoto's Revolutionary Water Crystal Research
Since then, I've encountered numerous compelling experiments focused on water and ice crystals. Dr. Emoto's research, in particular, kept appearing in my path and captivated my interest. Here's what I found most significant:
Water responds to its environment. Its molecular structure transforms in response to words, thoughts, prayers, intentions, emotions, and even musical vibrations. Remarkable, isn't it?
This isn't pseudoscientific speculation; it has actually been demonstrated. Water subjected to positive, uplifting, loving words and intentions formed gorgeous, symmetrical ice crystals. Conversely, water exposed to negative, harmful words and intentions created asymmetrical, fragmented, and distorted ice crystals. Same water, dramatically different results. Which type of water would you prefer nourishing your body's cells? Obviously, the positive, harmonious, healthy water.
Dr. Emoto's work also demonstrated that prayer and blessing positively transformed water's structure, which got me thinking about our food.
The Lost Practice of Blessing Our Meals
Two centuries ago, saying grace before meals was commonplace. I didn't raise my own family with this practice, and now I question whether I missed an opportunity. To clarify, I haven't encountered specific studies examining how prayers, intentions, words, and thoughts affect food structure, but based on the water research, it seems quite plausible.
After all, food contains water, and cells contain water. The logic seems sound. Throughout my spiritual and energetic studies, countless teachers have emphasized the significance of blessing our food—clearing and transforming negative energies, expressing gratitude to the plants, animals, and people who cultivated, harvested, and prepared it, and honoring the sacrifice of plants or animals. This mirrors what ancient cultures practiced: approaching food with reverence and appreciation rather than mindless consumption.
When Our Bodies Can't Absorb Water
During my Body Talk Access training, I discovered something troubling: most people's cells have lost the ability to properly absorb water. This means someone could consume eight glasses daily and essentially send it straight to the bathroom while their cells remain dehydrated. In that class, we learned a specific technique to help the body better utilize water, though I haven't consistently practiced it daily as our trainer recommended. I believe it's time to reintegrate this into my daily habits.
The Problem with Modern Water Delivery
Recently, I watched a program on Gaia TV that revealed something entirely new to me about water. Apparently, water doesn't respond well to the rigid right angles in our plumbing systems. The water flowing from our taps and stored in our bottles is considered structurally lifeless.
This makes me wonder if there's a connection between this "dead" water and our bodies' current struggles with water processing and utilization. I'm no scientist, but the correlation seems probable.
My Path Forward
Moving ahead, I plan to intentionally bless everything I consume—food and beverages alike. I'm also revisiting those special Japanese-style healthy water systems and other purification technologies to evaluate how they align with current water research.
Your Challenge
As you head into this week, I challenge you to try pausing to silently bless your food before eating it and your beverages before drinking them. Do it in alignment with your personal belief system. If you wanna pray, pray, if you prefer to focus on gratitude, do it. Pausing to mindfully think about your food before eating.
It slows you down. It helps ground you. So that's my challenge for this week. Give it a try. Have a fantastic week, and we'll see you next time.
